Re: my pastel (first BP)
If your snake came from 2 pastels then the babies had a 25% chance of being homozygous pastel (super pastel).
Yours however is definitely a heterozygous animal.
50% chance of it's offspring to be pastel.

interesting, if i bred him with a mojave what would the clutch outcome be hypothetically from a genetic standpoint, and how did you notice that hes from a pastel/norm mix ? i was told 2 pastel parents, even saw pics of mom and dad

I don't think he's disputing that he came from a pastel x pastel breeding, he's simply stating that you would get super pastels, pastels and normals all in the same clutch and that yours is a pastel, and not a super pastel.
When you breed pastel to mojave you can produce normals, mojaves, pastels, and pastel-mojaves.

Re: my pastel (first BP)
Looks like a nice setup there man. I'm with Starmom, if you're looking for an asthetically pleasing enclosure RBI can't be beat. Their 2X3X1 cages are great for people that are looking for a nice enclosure that is easy to maintain and are perfect for ball pythons. Rich (the owner of RBI) is incredible to deal with and is always more than happy to answer any questions you've got.
Plus you wouldn't have to worry about that fogger as it's much easier to maintain temps in a PVC cage than in an open lidded tank. Save the foggers for some frogs or something that needs a damp environment. BPs need a fairly humid environment. Big difference there.
Good luck man!

Re: my pastel (first BP)
I’m new to ball pythons, but not so much to genetics. I believe that both Pastels and Mojaves are co-dominate mutations.
Pastel x Pastel:
25% Normal
50% Pastel (This is what you have)
25% Normal
Pastel x Mojave:
25% Normal
25% Mojave
25% Pastel
25% Pastel Mojaves
From what I’ve read the Pastels that come from a Pastel x Pastel pairing are generally better looking than Pastels that come for Pastel x Normal pairings.
