Good things do happen to somewhat good people
So today was good for two reasons..... My grandmother came to my job and told me to call my mother. So when I had the chance, I called and she said that she possibly had a job for me at the hospital. They are firing the girl that currently does the filing and she's getting fired on Friday. My mother said she's talked to the doctor about me. I have done the work before, I have open availability, and able to start now. She says I have a pretty good chance of getting the job but she still has to have the go ahead from the doctor. As soon as she gets the go ahead, I start on Monday, so I'm really crossing my fingers. It is better hours, better pay, better benefits. My husband and I could finally save up, move out of this dump in only a few months, start renting a house, and start paying off our debt.
I am really really really crossing my fingers. My resume is going in tomorrow morning and I should know this weekend.
After work a group of my friends came in and while waiting for my husband, I started talking to one of them who works at a horse barn. She told me some good news. A: I could start coming with her to the barn to help her with the horses and she would start teaching me about the care and keeping of horses. She also said that her sister and her might take over another barn nearby and charge people to board the horses there, but they would only charge enough to pay the barn's rent. Meaning, we only pay what is needed to pay. So, it could be possible for me to get a horse in the future and keep it at this barn!
So, many good things happening. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both things.

Think good thoughts! Wishing you the best.
BTW, I was given very good advice about horses when I was young...
Never stand behind a horse. There's so many things it can do to you from that end and the horse thinks it's all very funny.

Re: Good things do happen to somewhat good people
Yea I have two main fears of horses. Getting kicked and getting thrown off, and I know that if I ever work with horses, both of those things WILL happen. It is just a matter of when it happens. I'm going tomorrow to the barn to help my friend with her horse. I'm going to learn to clean a stall and also clean a wound (horse has a cut on his leg). I'm so excited. I won't know for a while about her taking over the barn though. The woman that runs it now has to leave first and as soon as she does, my friend wants to take over the rent.

Wow, what a great week for you! Awesome, try to keep it up.
I've worked with horses for a long time, and never been kicked. Of course, I have been tossed off more than my share, probably due to a lack of good judgment . . . hm.
Maybe that makes up for it.

Awesome! Horsiness is a good addition to life. Learning from people at a successful, working barn, is priceless. Sounds like a super opportunity!
