I was reading about this on yahoo before work. That thing is awesome. It's so vibrant, and it looks like it's a total BA

"One species of pitviper was first noted by scientists after it was found in the rafters of a restaurant..." [quote taken from article "More than 1,000 species discovered in Mekong: WWF" on Yahoo! ]

Could you imagine looking up during dinner and seeing one of those eyeballing you?

It's not a new species - Trimeresurus Grumprechti was classified in 2002.

I've seen people listing it in their collections for a few years now.

All of these species that they have been talking about in the news for the last few days that were discovered in the Mekong Region really could be considered old news, seeing as how by "new species" they are refering to being dicovered in the 10 year window of 1997-2007.

Considering we have been classifiing animal species for well over a 100 years it still relatively new.
