I would never soak before a shed as it tends to leach oils out of the skin and actually creates (or has the capacity to create) a difficult shed. Just make sure your temps stay at a constant 50-60% and shedding ought to go just fine.
If you're having humidity problems, some damp sphagnum moss put into each hide works very well
