    I wanna see him!!

he has been hiding ever since I put him in the tank ... suggestions?!?! my fil put a large pvc pipe in there cause he thought it was a GREAT hiding place ... and it is cause you can't get him out! once he is outta there I am NOT putting it back in!! I will get him another half log thing. I can't check on him or anything he is just curled up in there!!
So someone give me something to talk about while I wait for him to want to come outta there. I hope I don't have to wait until feeding day, which I decided will be Monday. Since I know he ate this past Monday.

I think I am just about there with the humidity ... the foil on the top of the tank worked like a charm!!

I am so frustrated with this pvc pipe thing, to many cooks in the kitchen is my feeling on this one! Sometimes that man ... ugh! Sorry sorry totally different subject.

Anyhow ... I guess I have to just sit and wait huh??

I can't see most of his tail it's tucked in ... part of his tail is underneath his head LoL ... and I don't think he would be up to me tickling his tail next to his face ....

    Re: I wanna see him!!

I tickled something more likey than not a belly ... he moved but didn't come out ... now he is curled up so that I cant see his head at all. What a little booger!! *sigh* I guess I'll wait ...

and while I wait I'll ask yes another question ... I have mice in my house ...sad but true ... I am SURE he has been feeding on them. How do you think he will do when I try and feed him a thawed one? also ... whats the best way to offer it too him ... I have watched a few videos in most of them people used long thin tongs ... where to I get a pair of those!?!

    Re: I wanna see him!!

he let me see his head just a bit ago!!! He didn't come out just brought his head to the end of the tube. Strangely enough he seems to like it better when the family is in full family mode, loud and busy ... he likes to watch. Still, I would like to see how the shed is going ... and to check and see if he has anything I need to have the vet check out ... *sigh* Come out Avy Come out!

-Grins.- You're so excited! It's cute.

I'd just let him be for a while. He'll make his debut again when he's ready and willing to do so. AND...I'm sure he'll have presents for you too.

Unfortunately, I don't feed frozen thawed, but I dangle the live rat just the same way you'd do the frozen. My rats just squeak and wriggle when I dangle them. Here. Check out the selection here. http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/...sbandry-tools/

    Re: I wanna see him!!

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to feed him live and I might just have to for a bit ... I just don't know how he is gonna be going from live in my kitchen to frozen thawed in a tank ... my Bil is a vegi he requests no live feeding *raise eyebrow* he actually asked me to take my turtle off of live food!!! I told him NO because he will never see my guy anyway he is in my room and they are about 100 times cleaner than pellet food! That he won't eat!

OH ... how does one dangle ... I mean is there one method that's better than others??

and thank you all for being patient with me ...

    Re: I wanna see him!!

Ok, first of all, I would seriously suggest never putting something like a PVC pipe in the tank again. You're going to get your snake stuck. They get wedged in there and then they are unable to come out...

Second, why would he be feeding on the mice that are in your house? How is he able to get to them if he's in a closed tank? Unless he's not in a closed tank in which case I would ask you why not. You need to be very VERY careful about him getting any house mice because they can carry all sorts of diseases.

Third, please don't dangle the live rats. It's frightening and painful for them. Pre-scent the room to get him interested and he should immediately tackle the rodent once you drop it into his cage. I'm a vegetarian also, and I do feed live to at least one of my snakes. So I understand both sides: the snakes have to eat, but there's no need for the rodent to suffer. Please take the rodent into consideration.

She found him in her house, honey. That's why he's been feeding off of the rodents in the house. I hold the rat by the scruff of the neck. That's what I meant by "dangle." Sorry if I was seemingly cruel. (Just got off of work so I'm exhausted).
