Bottled Water Leaving Hard Water Stains (?)
So, I've always used tap water for the snakes and never had any signs of mineral build up on the sides of their bowls. Recently, I decided to try using bottled water and I've noticed that it's starting to leave hard stains in and around their bowls. Has anybody ever had this happen before? How harmful (if at all) is it to the snakes to drink this water? Can I continue giving them bottled water or should I switch back to tap water?
Btw: the water I'm using is Nestle Pure Life Natural Spring Water

Don't know about the effects on the snake's health, but if it were me I'd just go back to tap water. At least your tap doesn't cause hard water stains like theirs does.

Well it's actually just really convenient since I have a mini fridge full of bottled water in my room and I don't have to worry about spilling water on the way to my room. So unless it's absolutely a risk to the snakes, I don't mind the stains.

if you dont want the stains but like the easy access fill the empty bottles with tap water. best of both worlds

are you kidding, the cynical witch that i am, believe everything i read.....well...nooo,then i try to consider the source. but anyway here goes....
1. unfortuneatly a year ago in november, my daughter had a premature baby. they had to take him like 7 weeks early cuz she didn't have enuf or any embriotic fluid to sustain him full term. so the baby, which is doing awsome now, pulled thru just fine.she wanted to breastfeed the baby. but, the drs at the nicu (neonatal intensive care unit) advised her to use this substitute formula cuz it was richer and more vitamin enhanced powder...she suggested bottled water. the drs told her it would be better 4 the baby (luke) if she used distilled water cuz using bottled "spring water" is the same as using tap water. no matter what brand.
2. my daughters uncle,(her dads brother) is vp of a bottle making company, they make various bottles for gatoraide, and some other top quality "bottled water" deer park, gladden companies. so he was asked to start up a company in las vegas, making the same bottles. when we went out to vegas for a visit, he was busting my kid about drinking "bottled" water. he told her it is the same as tap water. he said he visits other large companies, they go to lunch, play golf, whatever. he was told that 98% of bottled water companies use ordinary tap water.he just relocated down to jacksonville,fl. to run a different company for them doing the same thing.
3. a very good friend of mine, who i have spoken to about this on various occasions, who works for the local water company, also told me about 100% of all "bottled spring water" is just ordinary tap water. we can get proof of this because the "envirnmentally friendly" water that starbucks pushes as that echos water promises to donate 10 cents from every bottle to a 10million dollar fund raising project to get water to asia, latin america and africa. echos also signed a five year, ten million dollar contract with pepsi cola, who is depleting water from all over the world. the label states that it comes from a spring in tom hicken, pa. which is a hop skip and a jump away from me.let me tell you i have hunted, fished, swam in tom hicken pa, all my life...believe me the only industry out there is a garbage dump, and a gas station.if you dont beleive me do a google earth search to find thier elusive spring.good luck!

No hard feelings man, we are cool. i am just saying, ya know. i didn't mean to come down on you real hard, but thats my best defense to get my point across. i just get nuts when i think i am right and people try to mess with me, not that you were, but you know what i mean. and i am big enuf to say i am wrong when i am wrong. i didn't realize you were agreeing with me, i was wrong and apologize. gotta look into that dewy defeats truman thing. not big on politics, the president is just a puppet. i feel sorry for obama, he is walking into a big mess and the world is gonna crumble, america is going to be a third world country shortly and he is gonna get the rap for it. feel bad for him.
