    Re: Mike Cavanaugh the bomb!

Great thing about living in North Florida - a feed store next door with Mazuri 6F and ASF's from Mike Cavanaugh! He is great! Really knows his stuff.

Check this out... so I don't know much about ball pythons let alone ASF rats, but Mike hooked me up with 6 of them plus a trio that we kept as pets. Before we met him, he reminded us to bring a container for them. Yeah, that would have been bad if I drove to meet him and have to figure out how to put the rats in the car. We met at the PetCo parking lot and my kids harassed him the whole time and he didn't mind at all! He was very patient with answering their rat and snake questions and listening to their snake stories! And after I picked out the cute ones, he walked me into the store and gave me recommendations on the things I need for their enclosure. And then he sent me a slew of emails with caresheets and recommended this site to me. And now I'm here! Learning every single day! And the rats - they are super cute, very mild mannered (we haven't been bit yet even with the kids playing with them all the time), and healthy. Before Mike, I bought rats from the pet store and the vet told us we had mammal parasites in the snake's belly. We've been feeding them Mike's rats for about a month now and when we had the follow-up vet visit, our snakes were free and clear!

Mike is not just an A-1 ASF breeder, he is one cool d00de overall.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
