    Re: im worried

How old is she? How long have you had her? What do you consider "perfect" temps and humidity? Has there been any changes in her routine in the last couple of months?

A healthy ball python can go MONTHS without eating and not suffer any ill effects from it. I know it's frustrating, but it doesn't sound particularly worrisome at this point.

    Re: im worried

My adult female has gone 8 months in a stretch, and the record in captivity is 28 months. Just make sure all temps and humidity are good, and that they have 2 tight hides and plenty of cover and water in the tank also keep handeling down as it may stress her. Offer food every week and one day she will take it. Maggie just came off a 8 month streak about three weeks ago, she will go off feed every year from 3 to 8 months the rest of the time she eats like a pig. I guess she is just watching her girlish figure. Dont stress she will come back just be patient and let her do her thing. A quick check by a vet is never a bad idea though.

I agree with both Judy and Harfield. I wouldn't stress so much. A vet visit in two or three months might not be a bad idear, but I wouldn't get overly worried. I've had kids not eat for three to five months.

I wouldnt worry to much I have a wild caught female shes about 1050grams and she hasnt eaten in 4-5 months but she is perfectly fine, just being stubborn. I have had and still have plenty of picky/stubborn eaters, dont worry ball pythons are known for vasting. What part of Pa are you if you are close I could help you if you ever need anything. Goodluck!

    Re: im worried

My guy hasn't eaten for 2 weeks, never had a problem b4. And I know it isn't insecurity, because I used to have him out for 3 - 4 hours a day. (Except after feeding) Now he's out 1 hour a day, sumtimes 1/2 an hour, and occationally not at all. He never missed a feeding except for these last two weeks. Even when I went camping for 10 days, I fed him, then 2 days later I fed him again. Ate like pig. I'm more confused as to if I should try feeding him everyday, or just every week? I know that BP's are notorius for not eating, but its still nerve wracking, he is my first snake. I've had him for 8 months now, and he is about 6 years old, my friend has had him since he was about 12 inches long. He was kept in horrible conditions; no humidity, no heat, once I got him I made things right. Though he did have a minor RI, which I spent $100 on, whch was like 75% of my birthday money. (My parents said I could only take him if I paid for EVERYTHING) Hopefully he pulls out of this one within a couple of months so I don't have to spend my christmas money. I know he can last a while, just to have him checked up on, just to make sure. I'm glad I found a thread on fasting.
