Anyway, for future reference, I would suggest not getting into "the ring thing" until you've talked it over and decide it's something you both want. I've been with my current boyfriend (who is also my first and hopefully my last) for over three years. We've talked it over and as long as everything continues to go well, we would like to get married. But I have told him that if he asks me before I'm done with school that I'm not going to be ready - I would tell him no. Maybe it takes away from the surprise of "popping the question" or whatever. But I'd much rather be straight forward and honest with him. I think something big like that is something both parties should discuss.

Thank you for the advice. No worries about people jumping on me because I really should have proofread what I was typing. I can easily see how it would have been misinterpreted. I also think you are completely right about the ring thing. At least I hadn't given it to her yet or anything. I'm sure someone that is right for me will come along at some point in the future.
