Same here. I've seen the female urinate & defecate & then wag her tail all over the place. A few hours later...a lock! &, I've also seen them pee & poop & then just each go to one side of the tub w/o locks.

I was going to comment on locking up for 12 hours and how I'd be happy with just 12 minutes - but I didn't.

Yeah- I was going to discuss fortitude with my husband after my snakes had a tremendously long lock.
Then Derek reminded me how many females my male was being with.

All of mine are doing the poo pee thang and only one pair are breeding out of 6.

I agree we had a thread on this not too long ago. I believe Adam was saying they do it for scent and he leaves it in the tub until breeding is complete. As for them doing it because they are not in the mood I dont get that one. I have a female that does it 85% of the time and have a 100% lock rate with her. She will be locked within an hour of introduction of a male.
