Re: Mites?
You need to get provent-a-mite this is one of the only product that will completely eradicate mites at all stages of development.
Provent-a-mite can be found here http://www.pro-products.com/miteandtemp.html
I would not recommend you to use products that are not designed to be used with reptiles, they could lead to severe damage and or death, also long terms effect are not know.

Re: Mites?
The spray I used was designed to ki9ll mites in reptiles setups. It didn't really work but I will try this other stuff next. Do you think they came in with the bark? Everyone tells me to use that turf stuff but it looks bad

Re: Mites?
First of all, you need to completely rid the tank of everything other than paper towels or newspaper, after you clean the tank thoroughly with a hydrogen peroxide /water mix, put the snake back in with the paper towel or newspaper, you can ask your vet for ivermectin, it is highly cost effective and super efficient at getting rid of mites. You can inject it into the skin once a week for 3 weeks and you are cured.

Or you can use PAM (Provent-a-mite) not go through all that hassle and get rid of mites for good within minutes.

Re: Mites?
Ok, zoiexpieds, this is the second post where I've seen you pimp ivermectin for getting rid of mites. I see from your sig that you have quite a collection, and I have to ask if you have used ivermectin injections on your own snakes? If you have, how would you rate the ease of use against PAM. I'm not trying to shoot flames here, but it seems to me that having a can of PAM around and doing some basic maintainance is a lot easier than injecting the snake three weeks in a row. Prolly a lot easer on the snake as well. I'd also like to hear your idea of cost effective. My can of PAM cost me $15 plus shipping and will last me quite a while since my BP has never had mites and might never get them. A trip to my vet is worth about $30 just for walking in the front door. Please show me the math.
