    tempature question

my baby ball likes the cold side of his tank alot more then the warm could this be a bad sign or not. he looks like he might be going to a shed could this be a reason cold side is 83 during the day,75 at night and hot side is around 90 at night and 94 during day

Sounds like a new set-up? How long have you had your snake in this enclosure?

    Re: tempature question

What are you measuring temps with? Make sure you are accurate with the 94 because that is on the high side. It could possibly be much hotter than that inside his hide. Bottom line is to get the temps right. The snake will take care of the rest by thermal regulating.

Guages are no good. You can go to WalMart and get an Accurite for $15 or so. Indoor/outdoor with humidity. You place the base on one side and run the probe to the other side. Gives you all the info you need.

    Re: tempature question

my BP definitely likes her cooler hide the most. She does thermoregulate, but from what I've noticed usually only spends one day a week in the warm hide, coinciding with feeding to help her digest.

Mine does the same thing. I always find him in the cool hide....after he eats, he makes a bee line for the warm hide.

After feeding and during shed mines in warm side usually and rest of the time either exploring or in cold side.

    Re: tempature question

you might want to bump up that cool side at night. 75 is pretty cool, try and aim for around 80-82 degrees, that should be a good temp for the cool side.
