Burm Cage Ideas
Hey Everyone...I rescued an Albino Burm (I will post the whole story with pics later today) but am looking for cage ideas. I am fairly handy so prefer to build one.
I would love to hear and see ideas of cages and what works and doesn't work. Making an 8' box is easy...but what should I consider adding (sliding vs. hinged doors, front vs. top access, divider in cage) My thought are to use a radiant heat panel at one end...but that can be changed as well) She is currently about 7-8' long and maybe 30-40 lbs and a real sweetheart.
Thanks in advance for any and all ideas and pics.

Nice cages...I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.
1. what are the dimensions?
2. Why didn't you split the doors instead of one long door?
3. What are you going to house in it? (your sig just says a ball and STP)
4. What is it made out of? Heavy?
Thanks

8 foot box, divider would be a good idea. 2 doors one on each side of dividing area swinging up in the front.

Its 4ft x 15inch x 1ft LxWxH
Didnt split it bc I wanted to see the hole cage without a blocking piece in the middle. You can split it just put the locks on the top.
I sold it already. I housed a ball(4ft) and a blood(3 1/2ft) for month, then sold it bc I wanted a rack.
Melimine wood. It sagged a little too. lol
I would either make a VE tub rack/Boamaster/AP cage for your big burm.

On the link posted, he says you can use pine shelving? I thought any pine wood, even a pine plywood, would be a big no-no. ??

As long as you paint it with a good paint, pine works fine.
