Wrath of the Lich King
So I hit 80 midday Wednesday before Thanksgiving nearly 2 weeks after release.
So far, I am just totally blown away. I have spent the time sense leveling my professions, running dungeons, doing some dailies, and (my new addiction) getting achievements. My guild has dubbed me resident "Achievement Whore."
This expansion has completely revitalized my interest in the game. Even PVP is fun for me now with the new battleground and Lake Wintergrasp.
Sure, there's still a grind involved with it but that comes with the territory. It wouldn't be a proper MMO otherwise.
I'll leave it on this note:
DK's are OP. If you play the game you'll know what I mean.

Re: Wrath of the Lich King
I love the achievement system. I spent several days to explore the entirety of Outland, Eastern Kingdoms, and Kalimdor; I love exploring. Working on Northrend - I intend on getting the tarbard and title from it.
I feel like everyone is rushing to get to 80. I am definitely feeling the pressure, but I kind of enjoy taking the time to level and experience all the areas and instances. Plus I just do not have enough time to level as fast as some people do.
Retadins are OP! Just hopefully they won't get nerfed TOO hard, I mean they were worthless for the longest time...
Do you have your epic flying?

Re: Wrath of the Lich King
I've had my epic flyer for about a year and a half now.
I have the explore achievement your are trying to get. My biggest and most costly has been the 50 mount achievement so I am sporting the Albino Drake.
One day I might save up enough to get the Tundra Mammoth (20k gold!!!).
I was the third in the guild to hit 80. There still only like 8 80's total at the moment.
My guild is serious at raiding but casual in terms of time ands schedule. Some of us have more time than others. And a few have made Death Knight's their new mains so the level grind is even more for them.
I seriously laugh at the people that got to 80 in like 2 days after release. It's just a sign that they have no real life.

Re: Wrath of the Lich King
oh WoW.. I'm glad I never got into it.
I played ultima online for 8 years, and while it was fun and all I really needed to move on! Sometimes I miss it, but then I realize that I have much better things to spend my time doing.
My brother's friend got scurvy from spending too much time playing wow and not enough time eating food that wasn't instant and microwaveable. Scurvy. Like 1600s pirate scurvy.. lol

yeah, i'm with you there icygirl...exploring is fun. my friends who also play the game think i'm nuts for spending the time to explore, but the achievements are fun to do when you need a break from the quest grind....i got kalimdor and easter kingdoms finished, now i'm onto outland....

i totally hear you there "Mainbutter", i think there are some WoW players who definately spend way too much time on the game.
But then again, to each their own I say. Some people think that going out to bars every night is "living it up" or the best way to relax, some people think that watching tv or going to the movies is "the best way to relax" or "living it up".
i think that playing wow for 2 hours a night, is the equivalent of someone watching Survivor, ER, 24, etc, etc for 2 hours a night.
if people take whatever they do in moderation, i think they will avoid "scurvy", no matter what they like doing....

Re: Wrath of the Lich King
I have a 24 Warlock. It has taken me a month .. and 5 days to get there.
That's good right?
^.^
I am going slowly, and tryin to just enjoy the game. I joined my co-workers guild (300-ish toons .. I think) and it's a blast running through the stuff. I hope I will have a reason to buy the new expansion before long.

Ouch! Someone didn't have their priorities straight!
While we are on this, I just want to point out that you (not Mainbutter, just "you" generally speaking) can't blame WoW, or TV, and any activity for the problems a person has as a result from said activity. It's each persons' responsibility to play responsibly. A lot of people like to blame the game and it's just not right to do that.
