    Can you tell how old?

Can you tell how old a python is by their size? I know every ball is different but can you get a general idead by their weight?

Re: Can you tell how old?

Sadly, I believe you can not.

I have a hypo female who is almost at 500g. Other snakes her age are 3x her weight I also have a small pastel female who is quite a bit smaller than other snakes her age.

dang :/ someone left a male ball python in a box by my friends house. It amazed me that it was still alive considering how cold it is right now and we are trying to figure out how old he is, and how much we should feed him.

If it were me, I'd weigh him and then feed 10-15% of the body weight, up to about 80-100g prey size.

Figure she's prolly a yearling unless she's been under fed since she hatched.
