Depends on the Blood. My guy is a hisser, but wont do anything more than that. I know some thay would take my arm off if they could!

There is no such thing as a "bad" snake.

In all reality, if you stick a sexing probe up my backside, I would be mad too.
It really depends on the animal. If you do get one, I'd recommend a cb baby. Even the bitey babies can be calmed down with handling and prove to be manageable adults. As long as you do what you need to as far as handling/husbandry goes, they'll be fine.

Thats the truth!!!
But all the bloods my girl and i have are amazing, never hiss or anything and love to be held. So im not sure if we are just lucky or if all bloods are like this. But the odds look pretty good 3 bloods never been bit or even struck at.

Re: Bloods as bad as reptuation?
I think the point made about people who have bloods loving them is absolutely true! I got out of ball pythons and keep only bloods.
They're exactly the same as any other snake when young or adult. I think one frightening thing about these to people who keep "balls" for example is the snakes reaction to fear. If a ball python gets scared its gonna curl up or maybe try to get away, bloods get scared and they'll strike. They hold they're own. Haha
Theyre reaction is just a little different is all. But I've got 3 bloods and out of 2 of em I could kiss em right on the top of the head if I wanted to. The female is a little different, but is a complete 180 from how she was when I got her. All 3 of my bloods are big "talkers". They like to hiss.
I guess long story short, work with a healthy CBB baby, handle often, and keep up on proper husbandry. They'll most likely calm down. But each snake is different
Hope this helps.

I love 'em too and can tell you that they generally don't live up to the nasty reputation.
Usually when people ask that, I just post pics of my little nieces and nephews holding my large adults. I've done that a lot and don't have any new ones, so I won't bore people with them again!
