    Swollen jaw

Fed my python on friday, went normal . Saturday she was fine. Sunday she looked like the skin at the back of her jaw and neck was loose. Seemed to get better as the day went along. Came home from work today and she is about the same maybe worse. she showed no signs of any trouble until yesterday morning . Does mouth rot work that fast? Ive seen it before and this doesnt seem like mouth rot. Could it be from eating a big meal? The power was out for several hours on saturday. Can cooling cause this? She's breathing fine. temperment is normal/good. I just worry! Thanks in advance.

Could be any thing from a rat claw sratched her inside the mouth to she broke a tooth of and it's infected. Best bet is to have a vet look at it and be sure theres nothing more serious

    Re: Swollen jaw

A couple weeks back I noticed a small bump on my BPs bottom half near her mouth. I watched to see what became of it for about a day, it went away then came back. She also stopped flickering her tounge when the bump was present. Me not knowing what it was, called the vet, they wanted me to bring her in to check her out. On the drive there the bump went away again. The vet couldnt see any signs of any kind of wound or anything that would cause it. But they did say it could have very well been that her tounge or surrounding muscles cramped, based on the info I gave. And since then I've yet to see it again.
