Super Dwarf Retics have amazing dispositions, mine have never hissed, struck or have ever even shown signs of aggression. Some of my ball pythons are more aggressive than they are. Imo, if you can handle a honduran milksnake, then a super dwarf retic is nothing.

I live in Florida, the permit is 100$, its a bit, but then again if you want a retic, or boa, or burm etc. and your in Fl. its necessary. I like the permit idea I have heard of too many people who say they get rid of their snakes when they get "too big" so the permit kinda helps in keeping those inconsiderate people away from larger constrictors. I only wish the permit was a lil bit cheaper though.

    Re: My Super Dwarf Retics

did you have to revamp your reptile room and have FWC some out? we had a FWC officer speak at our herp soceity meeting and it basically sounded like a vemonous type deal.

???What do you mean??? Sorry, not the best at some text phrases, FWC being one of them.

I really didnt have to do anything special, I just went and bought it. Nothing over the edge, they did ask what I have in my collection, and they were concerned about vemonous snakes and large constrictors, but I dont have any of those (except for a Columbian boa, but she is grandfathered from the the permit, got her last year.)

    Re: My Super Dwarf Retics

FWC= florida fish and wildlife commission. The officer said that your snake room must be set-up like a venomous room. you have to screen over the ac vents and have no gap under the door. you either have to have the cage or the door locked at all times, a sticker on the door saying dangerous reptile, and you have to have an emergency plan for a bite or evacuation for natural disaster. all the cages have to have the common and scientific name of the animal. then FWC has to come out and look at your room before they give you the permit. she also said that even the dawrf retics fall under this.

when did you get your permit? maybe these are changes starting Jan 1st.

Aah, now I know whatcha mean.
I actually know someone from the FWC, and he has seen my collection so he didnt feel as if he needed to see it again (his words). He explained the basic requirements, and stated that I should have escape proof cages, or room and an emergency plan if something bad were to happen, which I had all of that well taken care of. I got my permit in Feb. at that time I didnt have any retics, only a boa, and she is once again grandfather from it since I bought her last year.
However he didnt say anything about having the scientific name on their tubs, soo idk about that.

Wow they are beautiful! I love those orange eyes! I'm seriously considering getting an SD tic. They're just too cool looking and I need something to bridge the gap between balls and full size tics lol.
