so I'm trying to decide if I should bump alice up from hoppers to adult mice.

Looking at the size difference, lately I have often been left wishing for an in-between sized mouse, but think she'd be happy with an adult mouse. I haven't taken a tape measurer to my girl or an adult mouse, it is just intimidating realizing how much more food I would be feeding her.

What age range do you guys usually start a BP on adult mice? I realize all snakes grow at different rates but it would be nice to know anyways

the general rule i believe is you feed them prey the size of the largest part of there belly. if im wrong then im sorry but i think thats what it is. been going by that for years and no problems yet.

if anything...feed it a few more. better to feed more smaller prey then 1 oversized prey.

Different on-line vendors of frozen prey size their prey differently. I use The Mouse Factory and their small rats are 55g and the medium rats are 80g; so everyone is a little different

I like to go by the 10-15% guideline for prey size until the snake is about 800g. At that point, they all just get a medium rat per week

You can always offer her 2 hoppers for a few feedings sort of as a step up to adult mice. That way she's adjusting to the increased prey volume and you can see how she reacts over a few feedings to that. Once you see that she's ready for that heavier weekly volume of food, then step up the adult mice at that point. That should help settle your concerns a bit I think.
