Any sugestions on how to keep thermostat probe 'in place' in my tank???
So, I've had my BP for over a year now with no problems .
I have a 3x2x15in tank from AP w/ a radiant heat panel on the ceiling and their floor heat(forgot what it's called) on the same side. I have the thermostat wire running through the side of the sliding glass door and the probe on the floor underneath the substrate.
The problem is... the probe always seems to move due to my BP moving the wire around when he's cruising around at night. this obviously affects the temps... nothing too drastic, but I would like to keep them more consistent.
p.s. I tried to tape the wire and probe down a while ago, but he found the tiny part of the wire that was exposed and managed to tear it out of the tape, lol

Maybe try some 3m Double sided tape, i Just bought an accurite thermometer today at walmart for 11 bucks and that probe had a sticky side so i stuck it to the tank

Wow!! Do you really need the floor heat with the RHP??
I have cages of similar size from RBI and have only the RHP's in mine and they work very well

The probe is form a thermostat that didn't have any tape or other method of securing it. My accurite themometer's sticky tape din't last long though, lol, as sound as it came undone there was enough debri from the substrate to prevent it from sticking again.

Yeah I think I tried the RHP by itself and it didn't complete the job by itself. Maybe I'll try it again

I completely forgot. I do remember hooking it up and waiting a while(almost half a day) and it still didn't heat the tank up enough. I think I might give it a shot again. Don't you have your RHP connected to a theromstat though?

Yep, they are connected to a thermostat. I have 80watt panels in each cage due to where I live being so friggin cold!!
When I get the boa cages set up, I'll have 2- 80watt's in each cage given that each cage is 4 feet high and 6 feet long! I'll hang an 80w on the lid and the other 80w under a shelf

I place the probe under the bedding and under the edge of the warm hide. When it gets dislodged I just put it back. Been that way for almost a year and tey are all thriving.
