My amazon stays perched up all the time. What are his perching areas like? They dont perch like gtp's or emeralds. They prefer forked type perches where they can rest, amazon's likes to have contact on at least 3 points of its body. What I mean is they prefer a forked branch or crook versus one horizontal perch. Otherwise maybe try and put some foliage up higher in the enclosure around the "perching area's". Hope this helps!
