moral dilemma
im having dilemma, im wondering if you guys could give me some insight. my first reptile was a leopard gecko, but as much as i hate to say it i've mostly lost interest in him. he has nearly no personality. and im contemplating selling him, but i feel morally obligated to keep him as he was my first reptile. idk what to do.

Re: moral dilemma
To me, it seems if you don't love him, you won't exert yourself to give him the proper care, and might even end up resenting him.
He just might be better off in a home where he'll be appreciated.
Just my $.02 - YMMV.

Re: moral dilemma
You are morally obligated to give him the best home possible, be it yours or finding another one for him.

There is nothing morally wrong with changing your focus to what interests you.

Re: moral dilemma
I sold my leopard gecko when I decided I wanted to switch my focus to snakes. Now I regret it though. I miss her like crazy.

Re: moral dilemma
I had two parakeets that did not turn out like I was expecting....
Gave them to a friend of mine who loves parakeets and now they are very happy singing and doing parakeet stuff!!
I felt really guilty for getting into something that I lost interest in but I feel better about my decision to give them to a good home then I would have keeping them.
