    Re: Opinions about hybrid breeding

I don't like when people breed (outside of balls) the rare Indian Python to the common Burmese Python. I don't think there's any point of it, then trying to sell the snake for way more than it's worth. The first Burmese Python x Reticulated Python hybrid was selling upwards of $2,000 or more if I am not mistaken. All for a normal retic bred to a normal burm. And there is a low fertility rate when doing so so I guess that made them more 'valuable'.

Or something like a Diamond Python x Carpet Python.

    Etc. Etc.

    Re: Opinions about hybrid breeding

the only way to guarantee 100% what the owner will do with a hybrid is to BE the owner, but you can come close to 100% by only letting people you seriously trust become owners of their very own hybrid.

The only people on that list, for me, are close friends and family. If I ever breed hybrids, I would have no problem letting my brother have one for example. I'd always be able to check up on the snake anyways

    Re: Opinions about hybrid breeding

I'm against it. Almost every species that is used to produce hybrids gets mixed up eventually. Just look at the candycane corns, boa localities and carpet pythons. I don't care how careful the original breeders are, it seems like it will always muddle the purity of true species or locality eventually.
What are these mojavas I keep hearing so much about?
