Question about Blue eyed Lucy
Since I'm new to Ball Python Morphs, I find myself confused about what is being said about Blue eyed Leucistic morphs. I looked up photos on the web and found pics of them, totaly awesome snakes as white as can be with bright blue eyes. Of course I want one, but it appears there are not any for sale indicating they are quite rare. So my question is this, on this forum it is said that two Lesser Platinums produce 25% blue eyed Lucy's. If this is true, it seems like a piece of cake and there should be plenty of them produced every year? Am I crazy, or am I missing something?
Thanks,
Gary

Yup, that's all there is to it... Buy a male and a female lesser platinum and you'll only have to wait three years or so to make your own...

Thanks for the answer. But if it is that easy, how come there are not any for sale for a reasonable price? Are breeders hording them?

Re: Question about Blue eyed Lucy
I certainly will be keeping any I produce for many years to come. And three years is a fairly long time to wait. Three years ago you couldn't touch one for less then 50 grand. Today they can be had for around 3 grand, in about three years I would imagine they will be going for several hundred dollars.

you can also use mojos, lessers, and phantoms in any combo with each other to get one.

I would not call them rare. there are thousands of bel complex snakes available every year, and quite a few bel's. I don't think there are lots of "rare" bp morphs these days. Mostly breeders just controlling the market...flood the market lose the $. Don't think that is a bad thing market-wise, as for some this is a living, but I do think it sucks that po' folk can't afford some of the cool ones. I will be happy when the high dollar ones become low baller though, because as long as pieds are 1500 and up, and I still have kids to feed, no pied for me.
