    Ari's first feeding

Ok, so here are the pics I took monday of my little girl eating for the first time for me. I offered her the live hopper with feeding tongs (step towards switching to f/t) and she shied away at first. After less than a minute, she suddenly turned and attacked the mouse. She curled around it and when it stopped moving, she started eating it from the hip first. Thankfully the tail just laid along one of the mouse's sides so she couldn't choke on it. The hopper was as big as her thickest part, but I still wanted to make sure I fed her the right size anyways. If it looks ok, then let me know, but if it looks a little big, please let me know that, too. It took her a bit to get it down, but I suppose that could be normal. Thanks, and enjoy!

Sorry if some of the pictures are blurry. She kept moving and doing this wobbling thing as she tried to swallow it.

Great pictures and the hopper doesn't look too big. That is what we were feeding Sadis and Xefaud when they first came home. You should try a f/t hopper next. I tried a pre-killed small rat on Akina the other day and she took it. I was so excited! Who knows, Arianna might take it.

Dude, Ari was so eager about that hopper that she actually left a little blood on the bedding. You can see it in that last picture. She's staring right at it.

Very cool man. Those firsts are always nice.

What are you using for bedding there? I see aspen but what's the green stuff?

Yeah, the green was sphagnum moss. I'm playing around with ways to get the temp and humidity up to the right levels. The sphagnum moss was to help with the first shedding.

It's always a big relief when they eat for the first time, isnt it?
Congrats and GL on getting her to take F/T in the future.
