I dont know what to do!
I want to get a spider female to eventually breed with my pastel male, but then again I am getting into this because of piedbalds, and saw a pair of 100 percent hets for like 500 dollars. Can a male breed at a year old, because i was thinking of getting a adult female normal to breed with him this year.

To be 100% honest its all up to you and what you feel most passionate about. The best solution to a problem like this is to just do research on bumblebees and pieds, by doing so you'll be able to know what: they look like when they age, which one will be a better investment and most important it'll help you figure out which one you will like best.
Hope this helps

Re: I dont know what to do!
if it helps any i find the males of certain morphs to be more affordable than the females. So if you are wanting to make bees (which I assume by your wanting to pair a spider with a pastel) buy the female in the less expensive morph and the male in the more expensive. I bought my male spider and female pastel. The pastel is usually not as expensive, pastel female was much less than a spider female.
with pieds i would buy a male pied and a female het pied, or just the 2 hets as you stated.

I'd x2 to the above, I happened to get a early 06 pastel male first and now I am in the position of having to spend more then I want on either a pin or spider female. With more research I wish I'd have gone the way Kryptonian suggested.
