    Does this snake look deformed?

I found this albino hatchling advertised, and to me it looks like its nose it "tweaked" and too pointy. there wasnt a picture showing it from the underside. anyone else think this looks a little off?

I think its more of how the shadow is cast on it.

I remember hearing about some snakes being born with a duck shaped mouth.

Re: Does this snake look deformed?

I've seen another breeder showing deformed hatchlings before they were euthanized, and they had pointed noses. it was really weird, and this one looks that way.

and i made the photo brighter and darker on my computer, and its not just shadow.

Re: Does this snake look deformed?

To me it just looks like the markings and the shadow making it look sort of pointy. I could not make a judgement call on it without seeing a diff picture. If I was looking at pictures, I don't think I'd think it was deformed, just a bad angle.
It would be interesting to see a diff angle.

couple more pictures. I dont know if it looks so much pointed in these pics, but still think it looks odd shaped...

also, would an extra heat pit be serious at all? my friend's baby pastel has 5on one side, and 6 on the other side.

Re: Does this snake look deformed?

it is fine. it is a bad picture. the front of the snakes head is clearly visible the but the far side of the snout is not shown and makes it look pointy. if you draw a line down the middle of the head you will see the one side is rounded properly and the back side is pointy. this is only due to the camera angle.

without seeing a better picture proving otherwise i would say this snake is fine

Ask the seller to take a picture of it in normal lighting with out a flash, I'm sure it will look normal then.
