    They just wind their bodies around each other, and then try for a smack-down. It is kind of entertaining to watch. The winner is the stronger snake who can shove the other one down.

    Considering the condition I find the bins in during breeding, it wouldn't surprise me if all the pooping and peeing is scent-marking behavior. That was my guess.

    Snakes tend to poop as a result of being stressed. If you think about it, the muscles surrounding their guts are also the ones that they use to move around, for the most part. Any kind of action or general tension could really get things moving.


    And i'm sorry - i know the OP must have been having one hell of a time, but reading this story made me laugh. ...a lot.

    is that what it looked like? the condition those ball pythons are in are bad, but i noticed that they were fighting like you said so this was the only one fit.

    Is it just me, or is that burning hot open light directly in the enclosure? That platform does a lot of good too, much better than putting hides in there...
