    Feeding while shedding

I'm pretty sure my bp is shedding, I've only had him a few weeks so this is the first time I've seen it happen...I've been feeding him every 5 days and I last fed him on Friday, so I was planning on feeding him this Wednesday, should I wait until he's done shedding to feed him?

    Thanks,

    Jax

I offer mine food when they are in shed. They may or may not take it. I've found that it differs from snake to snake.

If you feed live, and your snake is in blue, be careful because they cannot see very well at all and you may end up with an injured snake.

Other than that, yes, some will take & some won't. I have 3 that will take (I feed F/T), but the rest may strike but not coil, etc.

    Re: Feeding while shedding

    Alice does. Charger doesn't. I feed F/T.

I will say that once when feeding day fell a couple of days after Alice's eyes cleared up, I chose not to even offer because I knew he would shed within 48 hours. I didn't want to have to disturb his digestion to clean up the mess he usually makes in his hide when he sheds.

    Re: Feeding while shedding

I offer. It all depends on the snake, some will some won't. I have been lucky and have some that will take anytime .. so in shed or not, they will eat.

I don't think it's a good thing for the per se, but it helps me keep the feeding schedule if they do take.

Some will some won’t, you can try and see out it goes, as you will get to know your snake more and more you will know if he has tendency to refuse food while in shed or if he does eat and act accordingly based on that.
