The money for a Tegu isn't the problem. You have to be prepared to build an enclosure that is at least 7ft x 3ft x 3ft and allow them to explore your house (supervised), they love to walk around and are very curious. Not everyone has the room or ability to care for a 3.5 to 4ft lizard. Reds can get over 4ft and the Extreme Giants can get over 5ft. It can be very rewarding if you put the time in to gain their trust.
That's true, there's the money, the space, the time and other factors that you need to consider. I just couldn't afford most of the things I just mentioned.
