    Check your state laws first before you consider getting into them. Some states limit how many you can own and won't let you sell them, some prohibit them all together, some require permits. As Richard said, fatty liver is an affliction of any snake that is overfed, you just have to monitor your animal. The issues I have had with the all rodent diet and Easterns is them not seeming to pass the rodent hair very well. Because of that, I feed mostly rat pinks to my easterns to avoid as much hair as possibly. Other than that I find them easy to switch over, but they seem to go thru spells where they revert backwards. I have a hatchling that was feeding well on inscented, and all of the sudden, toad only again....so frustrating. Diffently only for the experienced herper and for someone with lots of patience.

    It is the best way to find other hognose breeders. There are a few breeding easterns, and they do like to post pics of the hatchlings in late spring. I myself would have been one of those breeders this year except for some unforseen circumstances which have caused me to rethink my feeding / scenting techniques with these guys.
