I actually don't have a thermometer with a probe, but I will be sure to get one tomorrow along with another hide for her. That's actually the first I've heard of having two separate hides in a tank, so I'm glad you mentioned it.

As for the humidity, it's been around 50% to 55%, I've been monitoring it closely and misting lightly when it drops below 50%. From what I've read, that's around the ideal percentage for her, is this correct?

For future reference, I know you're not supposed to handle them a day or two after feeding, but other than those days, will it be fine to handle her on a daily basis, or should I start slower?

Since I'm a first time owner there was only so much I could learn from the information provided online and I don't know of anyone else that owns one that's near me, and I just want to make sure she's as happy and comfortable as possible

And yes, that's my pretty Poli on my profile, thank you so much for the compliment!

Yea, 50% - 55% is pretty good, you usually see people saying between 50 and 60. When mine dips I use glad press and seal over half the top but it sounds like you have it going pretty great.

I handle Stan just about every day for a little bit (except of course after he eats). I think it kind of depends on the personality of the BP - I watch for signs of stress and if he starts to show those I put him back in his tank but he is usually pretty calm and likes to be out and explore. I'd say go by her - if she unballs and is looking around and is still shedding, eating and all that normally she is doing good.

I also forgot - someone on here mentioned it for Stan and it worked well - it will help her stress level if you cover both sides and the back with posterboard or something - so only the front is open - so she won't feel so out in the open. Stan was already pretty calm but I could see a change in him when I did that.

This site is great! I've had Stan for 5 months or so and he was my first snake and I came on here looking for answers to some questions, everyone is so helpful! (Pretty darn friendly too!)
