    I suggested aspen because its safe to use as a substrate for reptile's, and cypress is questionable depending on the source. But just like cypress, aspen will release moisture into the enclosures air slowly through out the day creating humidity, but it wont look as wet as cypress does. Your just going to have to experiment to get your desired humidity. Good luck.
