Should I make a vet appointment?

Okay.. so I think there is something wrong with my female albino. I fed her 2 small f/t fuzzy mice Tuesday night (I am trying to use up a bag I had for a corn snake that I no longer have).

Anyways, I was checking cages tonight. I dug her up out of the aspen so I could check for any messes and I noticed 2 purple spots on her. One is right in the middle of her body and the other is down on her tail.

Anyone know what this is, or have you seen anything like it? I am very concerned. I am assuming I should make a vet appointment, but I just want to check here first. I can't set an appointment up this late at night anyways so at least I can discuss this here first so I know what kind of questions to ask if I do have to go in.

I only took a picture of her tail, her neck was on her belly and I didn't want to move her anymore than I already did.

I checked humidity and temperatures, everything seems to be right on so I have no idea what is going on here.

I would suspect the coloring further down on her body is feces inside. I don't know what the other spot could be, other than a bruise?

I was going to suggest the same as Becky. Obviously there's something IN there, and common sense would suggest it's feces. I think you should try to get a photo of the other spot as well. If you're really not comfortable with moving her about, then just take her to the vet. But otherwise I think it would be better for us to see the spot that's higher up.

Thanks for the fast reply. She has not had a bowel movement since she ate last week.. so maybe the one by the tail is feces and the one more in the middle are the mice? There is a little bulge by the middle bruise and I'm guessing thats where the mice are since she ate not too long ago.

I know with some smaller animals you can kind of see though them, and since she is albino and small that did kind of go though my mind.. I just don't know if it would be normal to see in her like that.

I am going to check tomorrow morning to see if anything changes

I'm feeling better about it now.. She is my first albino so I'm not used to seeing in her like that.

    I just took this picture

Its kind of hard to see where the spot is because of the flash.. its down by the bottom, you can't see any purple on her back at all.

I'd be willing to bet that you're right - that it's the mice in there. I can always see where the mouse is on my white-sided rat, and it shows up as a purple blob from the outside. Keep an eye on her, and if she shows any signs that make you question it, then take her to the vet. But I would say that those are both very normal purple bumps.

No problem . At least someone got good news on their "should I see a vet" thread. Have you looked at mine?

Just looked at it. I hope everything is alright with the snake!

If it makes you feel any better I've spent a ton of money over the past year on a rescue RTB I have and now that her RI is finally gone the vet thinks she has parasites so I've been waiting very patiently to get a fresh stool sample out of her for the past couple of weeks. Every time I see some poop in her cage its right over the heat pad and I always find it a couple hours after it happened :/
