I use that exact one on one of my tanks and have never had an issue with it.

Deb, I am not really rolling in cash right now, is there a cheap (but effective) way to get a T-stat? I have been seeing people saying that rheostats work? Where do you get them?
Until you have the necessary funds for a reliable T-Stat, you can use a lamp dimmer like this one http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...-WH&lpage=none which will cost you about $10.

Note: I would rather use this kind of dimmer than a ZooMed Rehostat

Wouldnt you say that the zoo med is a better and safer alternative for just a small amount of money ($12) more?

Nope I owned ZooMed and other cheap thermostats in the past and they are not worth the money, they allow to much fluctuation and are prone to failure.

Lamp dimmers such as the one mentioned above are very efficient (I use them for QT and never had any failure or any problem) and I would recommend that over ZooMed which I would not trust.
