    New corn from Tinley

After agreeing that we weren't going to buy anything at the NRBA show at Tinley Park, my husband and I went there on Saturday.
It was amazing!!! Over 1000 vendors, and so many attendees I couldn't believe it! There was so much to see, ball pythons in every color morph you could imagine, tree boas, blood pythons, geckos, tarantulas, red tail boas, corn snakes, king snakes, rat snakes, I could go on and on. It was fascinating.
We are, admittedly, very ignorant about corn snake breeding, and what you get by breeding what to what. When we bought our female lavender, it was with future breeding in mind. I just love them and to be able to produce them would be a dream come true. Well after talking to several breeders at the show we discovered we have a problem, breeding our lavender female to any of the males we have (a ghost and a snow) wouldn't produce lavender babies. We needed a lavender male.
So my husband bought a tiny lavender male for me, he is so cute!!! No pictures because he was deeply in blue when we bought him, so I brought him home, put him in his house and am going to leave him alone until he sheds, then feed him, then give him a chance to digest, then I will handle him and take pictures.
No name yet either. But I had a great time at the show and I'm super happy!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the new male. It is not safe to walk thru those doors if you are not intending to purchase something!!

I understand,. We weren't even going to go. I swore I wouldn't buy ANYTHING!! ANYTHING happened to be a blue beauty rat snake.

Thank you. LOL, I know, but I tried!!
Further good news. We actually have two baby corns right now, the little amel/red albino/reverse oketee and the male lav. I've been feeding the little amel every Monday and Thursday a day old pinkie mouse because she is so small. Well today is Monday and I checked on the little male and he was clear eyed, so my husband insisted I offer him a pinky. He ate it! I don't think he has shed yet, I couldn't find a skin, but he ate. I'll keep on the look out for a shed skin.

Aww...a lav. Lucky. I really want to get a Lav, but I am pretty much at my limit for snakes unless I produce them here. I COULD have one more corn...but ONLY if it were given to me free...like that's gonna happen, since I would only be able to accept a morph that would 'go well' with what I already have. And Ari is just knowledgeable enough to know what is what.

Well, have fun with your little ones!

Congrats on the pickup! Any pics yet? I love lavendars. I'm hoping to either get one to breed with my anery het opal or get an opal or het opal and hopefully produce some of our own
