Well, I live on a farm. We rent; hubby and I want to buy in the next 5 years, once we pay off some other things. it is a lot of work.. yet, not undoable, IMO. We have 2 horses and 5 chickens, and plan on adding some goats and maybe even a few bovines next year; our landlord wants to buy animals and have us look after them; that kinda thing. There is a farmer who rents acreage here and plants corn, hay, and straw crops. I do plan on selling one of the horses (have a prospective buyer!) and rescuing a pony and a mini horse with a foal. I like the idea of rescuing animals; since, say, you wanted to buy a goat. Check out local rescues; there are literally hundreds of goats, pigs, etc. for adoption in my area. It depends on if you want to get into breeding, etc though.
I will post pics of our area here as soon as I get a free moment (hard to do lately!)
