Cooling one's snakes.
How long do you cool your snakes before you actually breed them. Right now I am going off of the 8 Ball Pythons breeding calendar. I am starting to cool my breeders, I know I am alil late but my question is, do you begin to cool them at the beginning of the month and then around the middle of the month start pairing them or, do you pair them as soon as you start to cool them?

I am hoping that after I cool them and start to warm them up again I will pair them up again and hopefully get different results.
Well...I really didnt answer your question but eh, as long as your snakes are of weight and healthy and ready to breed, I dont see the harm in paring them while you are cooling now. The female just may not be interested yet. Then you just wait after you have cooled.
Adam at 8Ball did a great job on that Calendar. A very useful "cookbook" kind of tool!!
Good Luck!!
That is great, I just wanted to make extra sure and not make any mistakes.
Yup, That calendar he made is like my bible now-a-days.

Re: Cooling one's snakes.
Last season I followed Adam calendar to a T, this season I am experimenting a bit, I have starting cooling and pairing in the same time so far so good, next seaon I will likely not cool at all, and see how it works.
Bottom line try different thing and see how it works for you and your snakes.

I didnt do any cooling at all last year and wont this year either. They are in my basement, and I'm sure they can feel it getting colder. I start putting them together once I feel it too, lol.
