Ouch, eaten alive! Husbandry reasons can cause this to happen, but mice are so weird that a number of things could have set them off on this one mouse. It would have been sick, recently introduced to the tank, not enough food or water, wrong kind of food, a lot of things. The only time my mice ate anyone was because they had been over crowded, and the person taking care of them one weekend while I was gone "forgot" to feed and water them
