    1st ball

After MONTHS of research and craving a ball I have decided to get one. I already have the proper setup, etc. So all I need now is the snake....I know I will be doing some breeding and was thinking about getting a pastel & a spider to make some bees but idk...There are SO MANY MORPHS! lol. Anyways, I decided to ask you guys! So what are some cool starter morphs for the beginner breeder? Oh, and limit your suggestions to a $600 limit! THANKS!!!!

    Re: 1st ball

I've been thinking that if I were to try to get into breeding asap on a budget, I'd get a pair of yellow bellies. When they reached maturity, I could breed the male to the female YB and produce normals/ivories/more YBs, and to my current female normal to get YBs/normals. That's mostly cuz I love white snakes, and it's cheaper to get YBs and make ivories than try for leucistics from any of the leuc hets.

You might be able to get some het recessive morphs (het albino for example) since they seem to be in general more affordable than dom or co-dom morphs.

a spider and a pastel would be great to get, dom and co-dom morphs are wonderful since you have such a high % chance of producing a baby non-normal looking snake. They're much more affordable than many other morphs but it might be hard to stay under $600.

Not a bad idea! I wouldn't mind making some ivories. I was thinking about getting some hets for albino. Albinos are LOVELY! I'll definitely be ordering online considering the only balls where i live are sold from a small pet shop for 149.99. for normals...How safe if online snake purchasing?

    Re: 1st ball

It's safe if you find a responsible breeder. The guys who post here regularly are probably all reliable.

the 8ball pythons breeder (i think his name is adam) is advertised on this site, and has 100% het albinos $100 for males and $250 for females

here's a recent post of a someone on this forums who just purchased from him:
    http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ighlight=8ball

I'm not trying to advertise for any particular breeder, just showing that there are quite a few very safe and professional online python sellers!

That's awesome. I like his custom 8ball snake bags. Looks very professional. How reliable is Kingsnake.com? I've been doing a loooooottttt of looking around on kingsnake.

    Re: 1st ball

I have no idea. I would try to get referrals for my first internet purchase.

One thing to note is that snakes of the same morph that differ in prices might very well differ because of a grading scale. Not all albinos look as pretty, some are outstanding and some are just alright.

you can buy from adam (8ball pythons) with no worries or scares. he is very friendly and has a very outstanding reputation that he has earned and stands up to. if you want a ball there are alot of people on here that have nice ones for sale. if u want to find out who not to buy from then just read around on post. but i personally would buy from adam with no hesitations what so ever.

    Re: 1st ball

I bought my snake from Adam and planing on buying more from him. He's a good guy and his shipping is top notch. He sticks by what he sells. I know he has some breeder males on his site ready to sell and some of them are morphs.

1.0 BP VPI Pastel - Dante
0.1 BP Spider- Name Unknown (not shipped yet)
    Hopefully another one soon!

    Re: 1st ball

There are a lot of breeders on this site!!

Some of the bigger breeders are 8Ball, NERD, TSK, BHB, Ralph Davis and VPI. Some of the smaller breeders are Heather's Herps, BT, Larry Suttles, oh gosh- so many others!!

You could take a look in our classifieds section for more ideas. Also, when going through Kingsnake and/or any person who is unfamiliar to you, it is always best to check Fauna's BOI section.
