    How does this look?

This is the new vivarium. Its very new so the plants haven’t filled in yet. The hide is under the big rock on the right. This is a 40 gallon critter cage. I am using a ceramic infrared bulb on a rheostat for heat and a florescent for light. Everything is real (except the glass bowl the waterfall is dumping into).

Does anyone see anything wrong with this set up?

One of my 2 Ball Pythons are going in there. I tryed my 42" in there but he flattened all the plants (they are recovering nicely) so i will probably put in the smaller snake. See "A little help please..." thread.

    Looks cozy
Are waterfalls or mist machines okay to use around Ball Pythons?

I sure hope they are OK. This thing was a pain to get right.
I haven't read anything saying not to use them.

They should be fine, but make sure the substrate isn't constantly too moist, or scale rot could occur or an RI with too high of humidity levels.
I would suggest putting a more humid-liking animal in it, but it could work for a ball python. :]

    Re: How does this look?

The humidity is holding at 60%.

All the water is contained in a large pan under the gravel. Water goes down the water fall, into the glass bowl, overflows the bowl into the gravel, which is in the pan that contains the pump.

I looked at the bottom of the tank and the hole thing is dry on the bottom. I spent a lot of time on the water system so all should be OK.

    Thanks

I thought about putting a waterfall in my current enclosure but I decided against it.

It looks nice. The only thing I can say it, you shouldn't rely on a heat lamp as your main heat source.
