Hmm...that kid better get some serious counseling. That isn't just a issue of parents not watching their kids. That kid has mental issues. Isn't animal abuse one of the three childhood indicators of a serial killer?

Yeah .. I have access .. I just thought that is what this section is for. You know, off topic stories and news .. and information. I can see the controversial stuff (Politics, religion, race, abortion, etc.) .. but me sharing a link to a story

... about a Zoo and some kid going on a rampage there?

No need to get offended. I was just letting you know that there was another thread already started about this article. And just so you know, that thread was ALSO originally posted in off-topic and moved into the quarantine room due to the controversial topics that could spin off.

I am not offended, and it's not you ...

I am ok with what you said, but I was more upset that such a simple story could be seen as too controversial. I like to share more things with more people, but it's hard to do that when everyone is so sensitive to the rules .. ya know?

I respect the board rules, and I will obey them, but I reserve the right to disagree with them in this case.

There wasn't any rule broken in this case. And nothing against the member (or yourself!) who would post such a link in the Off Topic forum. It was just a decision based on years of experience that a story like that can lead to some rather ugly replies that are far more suited to QT. Just because something gets moved to QT doesn't mean someone is in trouble or a rule has been violated....it is most often a judgement call from a staff member and there aren't any hard feelings involved.

And trust me...you won't agree with every single call the staff makes around here. I challenge you to find one single member who agrees with EVERYthing we've ever done.

But I do want to re-iterate the reason it was moved:

I'm going to move this to the QT forum because it is bound to spark a heated and unpleasant discussion about parenting...as well as a number of ill thought, knee-jerk responses about what someone would/should do to that child.

Don't get me wrong, I am fine with you guys having your rules and taking action on those whenever you want ...

My annoyance more lies with why people would take a story like that and turn it into something that would be locked/moved into Quarantine.

I have access to the quarentine board .. I fine, just a little annoyed.
