And you're right...the only photoshopping allowed is resizing, cropping, basic frame, and certain kinds of watermarks. (Unless otherwise stated in some specific POTM theme)
Sometimes a photo can be so exceptionally framed and lighted and actual filters used on the camera that will make it look 'shopped. When we're in doubt, we'll ask the photographer before validating the image.
