WRONG, my father in law is a retired police chief. He has worked for large cities in South Florida to smaller departments and "the end of the month quota" was never in place for any of the depts he worked for.

Sounds like the police weren't doing there job and you should have gotten more tickets.

Hmm...maybe thats the way it is in Florida, but I've had several cops in Alabama and LA say otherwise. They DO have a quota.

There is really no point of the quota system, the police department gets something like 1-3% of each ticket they right.

Yeah, it sucks how the system works sometimes. Now I've had my fair share of speeding tickets (nearly all were less than 15 over), but whenever I see some punk racing down the road in his suped-up honda with an ugly spoiler and doing at least 80, I can't help but wonder where the cops are then? Sure, I was in a hurry because I was late for work, but who is more of a danger to those around him? Me or the idiot young twerp who thinks he should be in the next Fast and the Furious movie?



I can certainly relate to this. Since I started driving in 1998, these have been vehicles I've driven:

- brown Buick oldsmobile Lordknows how old
- black Chevy Blazer
- sky blue Chevy Silverado
- tan Chevy Cavalier
- blue Astro van
- white Chevy Venture van

I know what you mean about ricer Civics. I hate ricer Civic owners twice as much as the next person. Several times I'd be cruising down the highway and some idiot would pull up beside me, look into my car and rip it down the road expecting me to follow. I don't race. I follow traffic. I'll admit I've sped on occasion. Nothing serious enough to cause damage or life threatening injuries to myself or anybody else. I won't drive even after having one beer, or one shot. Which are probably good reasons why I've never gotten a ticket. Every time I do get pulled over it's for "a routine check" or "roadside safety" or "improper exhaust" which has a silencer on it so they have no reason to give me tickets. I've also got my car insured, registered, and licensed as a road legal track car and since I have a clean record, nobody hassles me beyond checking my license and registration but that careless driving ticket, was bogus.

Maybe so, but that wasn't my point. If a cop is gonna pull someone over and give them a ticket, that should be the only criteria. It shouldn't matter what age they are, or what model/color the vehicle is.

I totally agree, but they have it here just the same. I don't understand why any cop would say they have a quota when they don't.

You should know since you live in Ontario. All G2 Drivers under the age of 18 or 19 or some crap can't drive between 12-6 am with passengers under the age of 18 unless they're immediate family.

That restriction is only for the first six months of having your G2. But that doesn't really have anything to do with curfew, that is about keeping inexperienced drivers off the road at night (which doesn't really make sense to begin with, the roads are empty ) not keeping trouble making kids off the street.

Well, they call it the G2 driver's curfew. I assume it's the same or similar thing wherever this incident happened.
