This only appeared after she shed two days ago. I inspect her pretty carefully daily, unless she recently ate, so I'm pretty sure that's when this appeared. Her shed was a complete perfect one, by the way. I thought maybe it was a scrape from trying to get the skin off or something because it's red, but I tried to wash it off today and nothing happened. Today was the first day I could touch her since I fed her right after she shed. Now I'm starting to think it could be scale rot...
The thing is, her tub is very clean. I keep her on dry, clean paper towels at all times. When I spot any mess she's made, I clean it up and wash the tub out, her hides, and water dish with soap and water. Humidity ranges between 55-70% depending on the day. I thought scale rot was caused by a dirty enclosure? I thought I was doing a good job of keeping it clean. Also, I thought scale rot first appeared on the belly, but her belly is perfect.
So is this scale rot or something else? If it's scale rot I've heard of a lot of treatments that can be found around the house. Would something like neosporin really work? Or do I need to take her to the vet?
