    Water dragon as a pet?

    Hi,

I am new to this forum and I am interested in a water dragon, can anyone provide me with info on them as pets? I am mainly interested in knowing if they can be handled? I have read about there habitats, lighting, water and food requirements. Does anyone here have a water dragon and can you tell me your experiences with it?

I currently have a ball python and want to expand with a water dragon.

    Thanks!

I used to own one when I was a teenager. They are the BEST lizard pet in my opinion.

I would let him roam my room, and go to his cage whenever he wanted. He was potty trained, loved people, loved attention.

They are not extremely difficult to care for, and there is A TON of information on the web about their care.

Thanks Patrick! I have been doing a lot of research on water dragons and they seem like great pets! I think I will continue my research and eventually get one or more of them!

I agree with Pat. Water dragons are very personable. They get to a decent size, not too big, not too small. Very easy to care for.

Wow! Sounds great thanks for all the positive feedback! I am also thinking of building my own vivarium for him, does anyone know where I can find free plans for one?
