This reminds me of a guy I saw driving down the street the other day. I pulled up next to him and glanced over and noticed that his entire back seat was filled with fast food bags, papers, and other trash. It was literally piled up to the top of the front seats, and his front passenger seat was filled up to the window line. It was like a rolling dumpster, with just enough space for the guy to get in and drive.

I agree that this is a mental condition. I've always been concerned that my mom has this, but not to such a severe degree. She has old news papers from as far back as 20 years ago as well as old junk mail stacked probably 3 feet high on her kitchen table and every time we've tried to go through it and clean, she says that she's not ready to throw some of that stuff away. I think if it ever got to this point where she wasn't throwing away fast food bags and cups, I'd have to intervene and insist that she get help. As it is now, it's just clutter and not posing any kind of physical health concerns.
