Putting Ball Pythons on a vegan diet

Has anyone seen this? Someone is asking about putting their BP on a vegan diet so it can attain a higher level of consciousness.

    Hippies.

I think it might have been posted a joke, or to get a reaction. Besides, hippies are too stoned to do ANYTHING, let alone make up such a story to post on yahoo.

First, this person is obviously stupid and will do great harm to their animal if they try this.

Second, I take offense to your comment "Hippies." Not all vegans are hippies and not all vegans want to put their ball pythons on a vegan diet. I happen to be a vegetarian slowly transitioning to vegan and I would never even consider putting ANY of my animals on a vegan diet. This person obviously does not care about their animal's wellbeing and hopefully they find the snake a new home before they kill it.
    Under Construction.....

Oh man, I love idiots sometimes. They really make my day.

    Some worthy replies they got:
    Vegan diet huh?

Well first find yourself a vegan. Hit them over the head (to knock them out) Stick them in the cage with the snake.

Since the vegan won’t kill the snake(bad juju you know), your snake should be safe. The snake will start to get hungry and eventually eat the vegan.

Problem solved, snake is on a vegan diet.
No problem. Take a chunk of tofu and cut it into the shape of a mouse. Add a noodle for a tail, two chickpeas for ears and a couple of capers for eyes. Stick on some parsley for whiskers and you're all done. Then tie a string onto your "mouse" and drop it into the cage. You may find you get the best results pulling on the string to make it hop around the cage while making some squeaking noises. Once your snake starts to swallow his meal it'll be too late and he'll have to eat it.

When you're done, be sure to take a Dinner Pic. And don't forget the stapler!!

This topic's maturity severely bothers me.

    'Hippies'?
    Uhm, excuse me?
I find that very stereotypical and rude. You are implying that all vegans are 'hippies' which is completely false. I'm a vegetarian and I would never attempt to feed a carnivorous animal a vegan diet.

I would be considered a hippie under certain standards, and I don't appreciate your comment.

Yes, the person is clearly idiotic, and has a very 'PETA' oriented mindset. But some of the commenters were wrong as well. Of course we all know how people often react to yahoo, but one even refers to feeding kittens to his snake.
Does that make him any better than the person trying to feed a vegan diet to her snake?

Also, your comment is as well very stereotypical and incorrect. I hate drugs. I am very much against drugs, drinking, and smoking. Yet, I enjoy tie-dye, hemp jewelry, art and nature, and am often seen strolling down downtown with my friends. Are they groupies? Are we stoners? No. In fact, I can't tell you how many people assume that we are druggies when in fact, we dislike drugs.
Then again, I'm also seen wearing tripp pants with chains and thigh high colorful stockings often, so now what will you stereotype me as?

I highly agree. I am similar, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to be a complete vegan.. I'm going to try though.
I enjoy being a vegetarian, am and satisfied with that. I'm not trying to change the world, I'm just making a personal statement.

Re: Putting Ball Pythons on a vegan diet

No offence, but to everyone getting upset that he used the word "Hippies"...

Your defenses are "I'm a vegetarian/vegan and I wouldn't try to feed my snake a vegetarian/vegan diet." POink was obviously speaking about someone who WOULD do that, and therefor is not implying that all vegetarian/vegans are hippies or that all of them would try something this stupid. Don't be so quick to be defensive.

Only 1.5% of the people on this site are old enough to be a hippie.

Re: Putting Ball Pythons on a vegan diet

My God...some of you need to chill out a bit. You get all worked up over a reference to hippies? Uh, Ok...

And whether you like it or not, vegans are already considered a 'fringe group' in our society...and a lot of people who are 'members' of this said group tend to fall under such extremist categories.

Sure..not all of them, but some; if the shoe does not fit, just disregard it, rather than droning on and on about how something 'offends' you, as if you had some sort of 'right' not to be offended.
