Novalsan is chlorhexidine.....chlorhexidine diacetate to be exact.
What I think you meant is....
Novalsan/Chlorhexidine Diacetate or Acetate >>> Chlorhexidine Gluconate
Both are good disinfectants. Most vets and even hospitals use Novalsan for cleaning surgery tables, surgical scrubs, scrubbing in for surgery etc. The gluconate form is a little less harsh on open wounds and such, and is sometimes better for rinsing and washing infected or injured areas, similar to betadine.
Be wary if you buy either, they both come in a scrub and a disinfectant form. You probably want the disinfectant, if you go with the scrub, you are probably going to make a mess as the stuff is really designed to suds a lot.
