Reptile Relief

As I am trying to control and treat a Mite infestation while awaiting my can of PAM to arrive (Which I found out is illegal to be sold in New York State where I live) I am trying out this reptile relief I was told to try. My question is, am I supposed to rinse or let the snake soak after applying it?

I applied it on my snake about 30 mins ago but do not know if I am supposed to just let it sit and stay on or do I rinse? The directions really are not all that clear and based on what I saw is it is supposed to just stay on. is this correct?

Yes......spray it on and leave it. Try to get some PAM as the Reptile Relief will not kill the eggs.....Good Luck

yea, the directions really arent that great...i soaked them, then i sprayed them, and let it on them

I like to sray it on a rag and wipe them down completely with it and then let then be. Good luck with those lil #$%&*$%'s

I was able to place an order online from LLLreptiles.com as a combo pack. So far the order has not been canceled, but says it could take 8-10 business days for delivery, 8-10 days I don't want to wait, so I am doing whatever I can to control it and prevent it from spreading

kind of hard when you live on the opposite side of the state from where New Jersey is. I gott try someone that lives in OH or PA

When trying to control mites, I use both Reptile Relief and PAM. With the Reptile Relief, I usually spray it in my hands and apply it to the snake with my hands. While applying to the snake, try and get it to lather up a bit, as this seems to help get it inbetween all of the scales. Make sure you put a good bit of focus to the underside of the snake, mites love it down there. I will then take a papertowel and lightly wipe off the excess R.R. The remaining R.R. will not be a problem.

As for PAM, since you can't seem to get it easily, go to Wal-Mart, and see if they have Equate brend bedding spray for lice. If they do, get some of that and use it like you would PAM (i.e. clean the tank, put in new bedding, spray the tank with the spray, let dry 15 minutes, put in the water bowl and replace the snake). Remember that with the Equate or PAm, if you change out more than 33% of the bedding, reapply the spray to the new bedding (this is for if you use Aspen or Cypress. If you use newspaper or some other completely disposable liner spray the new substrate every time it is changed, as eggs may be left behind.) The life cycle of mites is 30 days, and that is also the effectiveness of PAM. So continue treatments for at least 60 days. After no visual mites for 90 days has occurred, you should be in the clear.

thanks guys. i'm trying to do some research into this whole why prevent a mite is upposedly illegal to be sold in NYS. Someone told me that it is produced here in NY but i have had several stores tell me it is illegal.
